After a 22 consecutive victories to start the season, No. 1 USC women's volleyball got its first taste of defeat on Friday, falling 3-0 to the No. 5 Washington Huskies. This year's squad produced the program's longest winning streak since a 52-match run that spanned from 2002 to 2004.
The Women of Troy bounced back from the loss two days later, topping Washington State in their third five-set road win of the season. Senior outside hitter Samantha Bricio contributed a whopping 31 points towards the victory, with sophomore opposite hitter Brittany Abercrombie racking up a career-high 16 kills.
USC returns to the Galen Center for the first of four straight home matches this Friday (Nov. 6) as it hosts Colorado at 8 p.m. PT. Â Catch the game live on Pac-12 Networks.Â

A different twist on this article. To go five sets with a team that was 4 - 7 in conference was a real downer. Bricio has a tired arm with 50 kills that were returned or an error made on them. Ford had a horrific weekend with a zero % from her attacks. Haley has not developed any good reserves for the front line, and now it shows with a tired team out there hanging on for dear life. His system has been compromised for the stretch run, and needs an overhaul. See this weekend at home if new life can be energized into the main players.
