Announced on Monday, USC QB Cody Kessler is one of five finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award given annually to the nation's best senior or fourth-year junior quarterback. In addition to their on-field accomplishments, candidates are additionally judged on their character, citizenship, scholastic achievement and leadership.
Kessler is more than halfway through another record-setting campaign this season. The redshirt senior's passing efficiency and completion marks are above his Trojan season records and on pace to top USC career records. He is in USC's all-time Top 4 in touchdown passes, completions, passing yards and total offense. His 70.4 percent completion mark is currently fourth in the country.
The Golden Arm Award will be presented at a dinner in Baltimore, Maryland on December 11.
