USC women's volleyball senior Samantha Bricio celebrated her 21st birthday in victorious fashion this weekend, leading her team to its sixth and seventh straight wins this November over Arizona and Arizona State in the desert. Bricio tallied 47 kills, seven aces and 26 digs in the two victories as the No. 1-ranked Trojans swept their final road trip of the year.

After ASU took the first set, 25-21, the two teams traded leads until USC finally closed with a 15-10 victory in the fifth. Freshman setter Baylee Johnson, who had 26 assists, eight digs and three kills against Arizona, recorded 35 assists to go with 12 digs, three blocks and four kills against the Sun Devils. Her effort in the desert helped her earn Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors.

The outstanding Bricio is now in seventh place on the Pac-12's career kills list with 1,966. This week, the regular season portion of her Trojan career will come to a close in USC's final match against Cal at the Galen Center (Friday, 4 p.m.). First, the Women of Troy take on UCLA in a BMW Crosstown Cup battle on Wednesday at 8 p.m. PT. A victory will net USC five points and pull the Trojans even with the Bruins in the ongoing rivalry in which they currently trail, 20-15.
