Announced on Wednesday, former USC defensive back Troy Polamalu and former USC offensive lineman Charles Ane were selected as members of the 2016 Polynesian Football Hall of Fame class. A Trojan has been named to the Hall in each of it's first three years.
Polamalu, a two-time All-American at USC, starred on the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense for 12 seasons from 2003-2014. In his illustrious career, the defensive back was a two-time Super Bowl Champion and five-time All-Pro Selection. An All-Coast selection at USC as a two-way tackle, Ane played for the Detroit Lions for six seasons including three division titles and two world championships (1953, 1957). The offensive lineman passed away in 2007.
The Class of 2016 will be honored during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend from January 29-30 in Oahu, Hawai'i.
