USC's McCullough Granted Sixth Year Of Eligibility
January 22, 2015 | Track & Field
USC's Conor McCullough was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA and he is available immediately to compete in both the indoor and outdoor season. McCullough began his career at Princeton and enrolled at USC last season.
McCullough has a personal best mark of 253-3 (77.20m) set last July at the Edmonton International Track Classic. He represented Ireland in that meet, but his throw was farther than any other professional or collegiate American hammer thrower during the 2014 season. McCullough's top throw last year while representing the United States was 238-10 (72.81m) which was the seventh farthest hammer throw by an American.
McCullough is a two-time World Junior hammer throw medalist, taking silver in 2008 and gold in 2010.
His father competed in the hammer throw for Ireland and was in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics.
