Haden on his own health...
Haden on the football program through three games...
We have shown some moments of real brilliance, but we laid an egg against Boston College. We beat what should ultimately be a very good Stanford team. It is still way early in the season. The goal is to win the Pac-12 South and that is still in our sights. If we can get our young players some opportunities and if we can stay healthy, I expect we will have a good season. We are hopeful of bouncing back well Saturday night against Oregon State.
Haden on the changes at the Coliseum...
What we have noticed around the country is that people do not necessarily want to sit in a 19-inch seat for three-and-a-half hours and watch football games. This is not just here in the Coliseum, but everywhere. We are trying some new things. Some will be successful and some might fail. We are excited about the Field Suites, which offer fans an opportunity to be right on top of the end zone and even get a celebratory high-five from a player on occasion as they did when Bryce Dixon scored in the season opener. Plus, we have new club areas, the Peristyle Club, the Field Club and the Coliseum Clubs, and the feedback has been excellent. They provide unique experiences.
Haden on women's soccer's hot start under new head coach Keidane McAlpine...
Keidane has really transformed this team. He was able to win with the talent he had at Washington State and earn Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors. Our women love playing for him. He has implemented an aggressive style, which is fun to watch. We are expecting big things in Pac-12 play after our strong non-conference showing.
Haden on scouting the nation for the College Football Playoff committee...
It has completely consumed my Sundays. Over this past weekend, I watched probably nine complete games, and now I watch one every morning on the treadmill. It is a big time commitment, but it is fun because I am following some teams that I would not otherwise. I know the committee members are focused on doing everything we can to get it right. Having said that, we know we will have our detractors.
Haden on the new USC Athletics' video supporting "You Can Play"...
At USC, we welcome everybody. No matter your race, gender, faith or sexual orientation, our locker rooms are open and safe for all our student-athletes. Our message is simple, "If you can play, you can play."
