Anything Worth Doing...

New Director of Track and Field Caryl Smith Gilbert has made immediate changes to the men's and women's programs not the least of which is adding indoor track, which was previously not on the Trojans' schedule. In their first foray under the roof, the Women of Troy won the conference title over Arizona by winning five of the eight events in which they were entered, and going 1-2 in three events.

Individually, senior Jessica Davis highlighted a strong weekend for the sprinters by winning the 60m and 200m. Senior Lauren Blackburn (60m IH), Akawkaw Ndipagbor (400m) and Oluwakemi Olonade (triple jump) also topped podiums for the MPSF champs.

Next up on the indoor circuit, the USC women's and men's teams will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 14-15 in Albuquerque, N.M.
