USC women's soccer has found its finishing kick. The Women of Troy went through a stretch of losing four of five matches because they could not convert late game pressure into goals, but now the Trojans have found that winning formula.
The Women of Troy are riding a four-game winning streak after beating No. 17 Washington in Seattle and No. 22 Washington State in Pullman. Katie Johnson delivered the match-winner in the Palouse in the final minute a week after the Trojans defeated Oregon and Oregon State in overtime.
"I am extremely happy for our team because on a day where we weren't great, we found a way to win and this time of year that is all that matters," said head coach Keidane McAlpine about the win over the Cougars.
With only one game to go, the Women of Troy already have a compelling tournament resume. They can put an exclamation point on the regular season with a win Friday night under the Coliseum lights (kickoff at 7:30).
