Rich Rodriguez's offense can make opponents look foolish. The Wildcats have a run-pass option on every play and within every play. The Trojans have a troubling history with mobile quarterbacks, which resurfaced in the road loss at Boston College. "We learned early. We learned real early. We're ready for this quarterback," CB Kevon Seymour said. The Trojans must show what they've learned, which is the discipline and concentration to "do your job" on every play and not blow assignments.
Score for Score
The Wildcats run a 3-3-5 scheme defensively, which can lead to some tricky blitz packages. The Arizona pass rush led by Scooby Wright III had five sacks last week in the win at Oregon. The USC offensive line has shown improvement in the past two games, but the unit will have to communicate well in a hostile road atmosphere. If Cody Kessler has time and Buck Allen has running room, the Trojans can be ruthless offensively against an Arizona defense which gave up 45 points to Cal.
Get Off the Mat
The final point started earlier this week. Most teams would have been gutted by the Hail Mary loss to Arizona State, but the Trojans have been through worse, and the leaders know how to respond to adversity. While the Sun Devil loss was a major blow, the Pac-12 South is still within the Trojans' reach. If they can beat the Wildcats, they vault right back up to the top of the division. The Fight On spirit was evident on the practice field all week, but how will USC respond emotionally in Tucson?
