Espar won her first-ever World Championship gold medal as Spain defeated Australia 8-6 in the final match. After scoring the game-winning goal for USC in the 2013 NCAA Championships her freshman year, Espar had two early assists in tonight's victory.
Goalie Flora Bolonyai dominated in the bronze-medal match, with 14 saves to secure a spot for Hungary on the podium. Bolonyai was the 2013 NCAA Tournament MVP this past season with 17 saves in the triple sudden-death overtime win over Stanford.
