Two-time USC All-American Harry Smith, a College Football Hall of Famer, died on Tuesday at 94. Smith won a pair of Rose Bowls at Troy, including the 1939 national championship.

Known as "Blackjack" for the signature cast he wore throughout the 1939 season, the pulling guard was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1940, and played one season before becoming a coach, including a two-year stint (1949-50) as a USC assistant. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955, and the USC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.
