"When I was turning onto freestyle, I saw the others coming and I just wanted to touch the wall and celebrate," the Hungarian said. "I was just pushing the freestyle leg, it really hurt at the end, I saw the time, I felt like I had to check and I was really happy to see I was the one that won."

Hosszu is the first Trojan to grab indoor gold so far at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Barcelona, but Vladimir Morozov took home relay bronze on Sunday. In the open water competition, Haley Anderson and Ous Mellouli both won gold medals to follow their impressive Olympic performances.
