
Smith Leads USC During Pac-12 Championships Third Round

Senior Sam Smith carded a 1-over 71 to lead No. 11 USC during a tough third round at the 2013 Pac-12 Championships at the L.A. C.C. on Tuesday (April 30).
Top-ranked Cal is still in first at 6-over 1056, though now only two ahead of second-place UCLA (8-over 1058). Washington is well back in third at 28-over 1078.
USC is tied for seventh with Oregon State and Colorado at 60-over 1110 (368-368-374).
Smith, who has led USC in its previous three outings, is tied for 14th at 6-over 216 (71-74-71). He posted two birdies during a solid round and was even until a bogey on 18.
Sophomore Anthony Paolucci is tied for 20th at 7-over 217 (67-77-73) and had a pair of birdies on the round, including one to close play on 18.
Senior Stewart Hagestad is tied for 27th at 10-over 220 (71-73-76) while freshman Yi Keun Chang is tied for 55th at 19-over 229 (79-72-78).
Junior Jeffrey Kang is tied for 64th at 21-over 231 (82-73-76) and junior Ramsey Sahyoun is in 72nd at 30-over 240 (80-76-84).
Final round action begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
