The USC women's lacrosse team took down the Oregon Ducks, 12-10, in the team's first ever Pac-12 televised game yesterday. The Trojans beat the defending MPSF champions on their home turf with help from freshman attack Caroline Cordrey who notched her second straight four-goal game.Â
Despite the rain, the Women of Troy overcame Oregon with stellar performances all around. Freshman midfield Haleigh Dalmass scored both the first and game-winning goal and freshman attack Paige Bonomi scored twice as well. Caroline de Lyra had yet another outstanding game earning her 10th hat trick of the year and tacking on three critical assists.Â
Coach Lindsey Munday said the win was the result of patience and timing.
"This was a great win for us. This really was the first game in which we played a full 60 minutes where every single player played a major role in securing the victory."
The win in Eugene helped the Trojans advance to an impressive 3-2 conference record in their first season and a 6-8 record overall. They have three games remaining until they head to the MPSF tournament. USC hosts California next Friday, April 12, at 3 p.m.
