The Stevens Academic Center is holding a series of workshops that focus on personal development for USC student-athletes. The first workshop in the series focused on working in professional sports and utilizing networking opportunities.
The panel consisted of four professionals that were former student-athletes: Deborah Johnston (Director of Human Resources, Angels Baseball), Arthur Hightower (Director of Player Development, San Diego Chargers), Tim Martin (USC Associate Athletic Director) and Russell Silvers (Vice President, Partnership Activation, AEG Global Partnerships).
Among much advice, the panel discussed ways to standout in interviews and stressed the importance of internships as well as workplace behavior. Among the upcoming panels, Wells Fargo will be educating the student-athletes on personal finance.
