No. 1 USC women's water polo was dealt its first loss of the season Saturday as Stanford returned the favor after the Women of Troy handed the Cardinal its only blemish of 2013 earlier in the year. So now, the season series stands at one apiece with potential meetings looming in the MPSF and NCAA Tournament.

Stanford blitzed USC early with a 3-0 start and then held on to win a low-scoring affair 6-4. The Trojans had won their first 20 games of the season, and now enter the MPSF Tournament as the No. 2 seed.
