On a roster that is made up of 50% freshmen (17 of 34), two of the top seven hitters are neophytes - Blake Lacey (.349) and Bobby Stahel (.321). USC has given freshmen more than twice as many at-bats as any other team in the Pac-12, and the class has responded by hitting .280 combined.

On the mound, true freshman Kyle Twomey leads the team in strikeouts, while fellow freshman Kyle Davis is the staff leader in wins this season. A third freshman, Brent Wheatley, pitched three hitless innings recently to combine with junior Sean Silva on the Trojans first one-hitter since 1996.
USC has won three of its last four as the Trojans continue an eight-game road trip with a series at Oregon State this weekend. At 8-10 in the Pac-12, USC has already matched last year's conference win total.
Sophomore Dante Flores leads the team with a .356 batting average.
