Three USC student-athletes participated as summer camp counselors at SCOA Japan, which was held in the Tohoku region where the devastating tsunami hit in 2011. Elementary and junior high students from Fukushima, where the nuclear accident occurred, participated in the camp.Mike Godbe (swimming), Kris Washington (track and field) and Alegra Hueso (water polo) were among five USC students to serve as camp counselors including a Song Girl. They described the experience as "rewarding and meaningful."
