Nathan Garcia, whose friendship with USC QB Cody Kessler became a powerful story this month, has lost his battle with cancer and died this week. Garcia and Kessler, both Bakersfield products, bonded in his final months and days. He was able to attend the USC vs. Notre Dame game, where he met Lane Kiffin and the team.
The selfless Garcia spent much of his final moments starting a toy drive to benefit kids in need this holiday season. Thanks to his growing list of friends and admirers, 3,000+ gifts were donated in Garcia's name.
