Steve Johnson will don the cardinal and gold in a team competition for the first time this season since taking the fall off to explore the professional ranks full-time.
The senior was supposed to play for USC in the opening two matches last Saturday, but the rain forced the doubleheader to Sunday and Johnson had to board a flight to Hawaii for an individual professional tournament to which he was already committed. Without him, the No. 1 Trojans posted a pair of 7-0 sweeps.
Johnson will lead the line this weekend at Marks Stadium as USC welcomes UNLV on Saturday for the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Depending on results, the Trojans will play either South Florida or UNC Wilmington on Sunday. The winner of the quadrant advances to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, VA, in February.
The three-time defending national champions carry a 21-match win streak into this weekend's competition.
