Cunningham, an All-American and national champion in 1972, amassed 25 touchdowns in his three year varsity career, which he capped with a four TD Rose Bowl MVP performance.
While his on-field numbers pushed USC to 24 wins over his three seasons, his single game dominance against Alabama rocked the college football world. After Cunningham ran over the Tide for 135 yards and 2 TDs on just 12 carries, "Bear" Bryant decided it was time to integrate Southern football.
