Tyron Smith Picked Ninth In First Round By Cowboys

USC offensive tackle Tyron Smith was selected as the ninth pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft today (April 28) by the Dallas Cowboys.
Smith, a 2010 All-Pac-10 first teamer who won the Pac-10's Morris Trophy, declared for the NFL Draft following his junior season.
He becomes USC's 75th first round NFL draft pick, the most of any school. The Trojans now have had 465 NFL draftees.
Smith also is the 21st Trojan offensive lineman selected in the NFL first round since 1968, almost one every other year.
The NFL Draft continues Friday and Saturday (April 29-30) with rounds 2 through 7.
