USC Kicks Off Dual Meet Week With Luncheon On Tuesday

Trojans Angela Williams, Ryan Wilson, Felix Sanchez, Quincy Watts and Jack Davis will be inducted into the USC-UCLA Dual Meet Hall of Fame at the annnual Dual Meet Luncheon on Tuesday, April 26 at noon in the Varsity Lounge in Heritage Hall on the USC campus. The entire luncheon will be streamed line on USCTrojans.com for free. Also being inducted into the Dual Meet Hall of Fame this year will be former USC and UCLA head coach Jim Bush, as well as Bruins John Smith, Nicole Leach, Karen Hecox-Candaele and Bob Day.
The luncheon kicks off the USC-UCLA Dual Meet Week as the Trojans and Bruins will meet in the annual track and field battle at Loker Stadium on Sunday, May 1, with the hammer throw competition being contested at Mt. SAC on Saturday, April 30.
Angela Williams (1999-2002): A two-time Olympian and the only four-time men's or women's NCAA winner of the 100m dash.
Ryan Wilson (2000-03): Was the 2003 NCAA champion in the 110m HH and a three-time NCAA scorer in the event. Has ranked in the top 10 in the world the last three seasons in the 110m HH. Is third all-time on USC's 110m HH list.
Felix Sanchez (1999-2000): Won the 2004 Olympic gold medal in the 400m hurdles and was the 2000 NCAA champion in the 400m IH.
Quincy Watts (1989-92): Won two gold medals at the 1992 Olympics, one in the 400m dash and one as part of the U.S.'s 4x400m relay team. He was the 1992 NCAA champion in the 400m and was second in 1991. The USC record-holder in the 400m dash is one of nine athletes to ever run under 44 seconds (43.50).
Jack Davis (1951-53): Was a two-time Olympic silver medalist in the 110 high hurdles and a three-time NCAA champion in the event.
The USC-UCLA Dual Meet has long been know as the greatest college dual meet in the country and has featured some of track and field's all-time greats. The Trojans and Bruins decided in 2008 to begin a Dual Meet Hall of Fame to recognize some of the great athletes and their performances throughout the history of the storied rivaly.
This year's Dual Meet will also feature the introduction of USC's 50-year reunion team (1960-61) and the 25-year reunion team (1985-86).
