Three Trojans Post School Top 10 Times

Ariel Wright, Dina Kitayama and Ted Price all posted USC top-10 all-time marks as the USC track and field program had several athletes competing at the three different meets over the weekend. The majority of the team trained through this weekend.
As the Stanford Invitational on March 25, fifth-year transfer Ariel Wright ran her first 5000m race for USC and posted a time of 16:23.66, good for third in her heat and third all-time by a Trojan female. Wright's time was also just a second and a half off her personal best she ran while at Brown.
Price, another fifth-year transfer from Princeton, ran his first race as a Trojan and had a 10K time of 30:31.10, good for fourth all-time on USC's 10000m list.
Senior Zsofia Erdelyi ran her first 10000m race of the season and finished eighth with a time of 33:26.47. That time is just eight seconds off her school record.
Junior Blake Shaw was fourth among college runners in his 1500m heat with a time of 3:45.60, just .17 off his PR. Just 0.4 seconds separated the second through fourth place finishers.
Senior John Carley continued his strong running posting a time of 14:35.72 in the men's 5000m race. Senior Christine Cortez ran in the women's 1500m race and had a time of 4:35.99 in her heat. Redshirt sophomore Kathryn Daniels had a throw of 131-4 in the women's hammer throw competition.
At the Cal-Nevada Championships at Claremont College on March 26, senior Dina Kitayama moved from sixth to fifth on USC's all-time 10000m list with a time of 36:56.79. Her time was good for third on the day. Senior Zara Lukens placed 12th in the 10K with a time of 38:32.05.
Senior Oscar Spurlock had a wind-aided time of 13.69 in the men's 110m high hurldes to lead all runners on the day, but he did not compete in Sunday's finals.
On March 25 at the Titan Twighlight Open in Fullerton, Calif., USC had three male pole vaulters competing. Senior Taylor Slingsby won the event at 15-7.0 (4.75m), while freshman Ross McDonald was sixth with a clearance of 14-1.25 (4.30m). Junior Matthew McCormick no heighted.
