The Frank Cruz era started with a winning weekend at Dedeaux Field as the Trojans took two of three at the USC tournament to open up the 2011 campaign.
After an opening night rainout, the Trojans swept a Saturday doubleheader over Missouri and Cal Poly with a little help from the elements.
Right-handed phenom Austin Wood made a successful debut against Cal Poly throwing an abbreviated complete game to earn the victory.
