- To the relief of many, center Kristofer O'Dowd returned to practice after suffering a mild knee sprain on Thursday.
- In addition to Everson Griffen, Anthony McCoy and Brian Cushing, several other Trojan alums were in attendance for today's practice. Those included were offensive tackle Pat Harlow, tailback Mazio Royster, center Brad Leggett, linebacker Ryan Tyiska and wide receiver Curtis Conway.

- A dozen walk-on players returned to practice with the teamafter Tuesday's tryout. In a five-on-five tailback drill today, one of those walk-ons, 5-11 cornerback Cody Romness, earned the attention and praise of his teammates and spectators. Romness made three consecutive defensive stops on opposing running backs, including an impressive takedown of the not-so-easily corralled Allen Bradford.
- For the second straight practice, Fresno State head coach Pat Hill observed the work of some of his former co-workers. USC head coach Lane Kiffin played under Hill at Fresno State before joining the Bulldog staff as a student assistant coach. Hill also coached with new USC special teams coach John Baxter last year at Fresno State.
- For NCAA compliance reasons, spectators at practice this year are being kept on the east side of the field. Only recruits are allowed on the west side of the field and between Jones and Kennedy Fields.
