Ryan Davidson, a teenager from Wisconsin who captured the hearts and minds of USC players, coaches and fans as he courageously fought several bouts of cancer, died on his 16th birthday on Feb. 19, 2009, ending a nearly 10-year-long battle that saw four brain surgeries and 60 rounds of radiation treatment.
"He will always bring us joy," former USC coach Pete Carroll said at Davidson's memorial service in Wisconsin last February. "We were the ones who were blessed by our relationship and friendship with Ryan. He will always be with us and always be a special part of our family."
