USC is getting closer and closer to capturing an unprecedented third consecutive Gauntlet Trophy.
With the Trojans needing only 15 points out of a remaining 47.5 on the table in the annual crosstown rivalry competition, USC could be on its way to clinching its sixth title in the nine-year history of the trophy. Fifteen scheduled competitions remain between the Trojans and Bruins, and USC currently holds a 42.5-25 lead; 57.5 points are needed to capture the Gauntlet Trophy.
Ten points are awarded in football, women's volleyball and men's and women's basketball, while winner of the season series in the 14 other common sports receive five points each. Here's a look at the current scoreboard and the entire schedule of the 2009-10 USC-UCLA rivalry matchups:
