"Loni made a family decision to transfer and walk on at BYU," head coach Lane Kiffin said. "We wish him and his family the best, and we appreciate his participation in our program."
Fangupo came to USC in 2009 from Mt. San Antonio Junior College, but his first season was cut short by a broken ankle. He played in seven games this past season, recording four total tackles.
Due to the NCAA sanctions imposed earlier this year, he will not have to sit out a year just like the other former players that transferred this fall.
