One of the busiest, most hectic days of the season has begun.
Coaches are already in staff meetings this morning, and the team will convene for its normal Thursday meetings at 1 p.m., bumped up 75 minutes from their usual slot. Following a quick practice, the Trojans will then board buses, head to LAX and take off for Columbus, Ohio, where they're set to arrive around 1 a.m. Eastern time (remember that the team is leaving and arriving so late because of the NCAA's 48-hour rule).
USC's frenzied Thursday is starting on a calm L.A. morning but will end well past midnight in central Ohio. Here's a look at the team's schedule for their first travel day of the 2009 season:
1 p.m. • Meetings begin
2:45 p.m. • No Repeat Thursday practice
4 p.m. • Practice ends
5 p.m. • Board buses for LAX
6 p.m. • U.S. Airways charter flight departs LAX
1 a.m. (EDT) • Estimated arrival at Port Columbus International Airport
1:30 a.m. (EDT) • Check in to hotel
2 a.m. (EDT) • Bed check
