The last time the Trojans played at Ohio State, the game didn't end.
Well, it did, but just not like a normal game.
The 1990 USC-Ohio State contest was suspended with 2:36 left in the fourth quarter because of lightning and thunder in the area. The Trojans captured the 35-26 victory, and the L.A. Times headline the next day was, "Thundering heard."
Sports information director Tim Tessalone, in his 31st season at USC, vividly remembers the game.
"The fourth quarter came and all the impending storms were swirling around the stadium," Tessalone said. "You could see it, feel it, hear it. And then the storm was right on top of us and I remember the officials huddling and making their decision, and our guys ran off the field.
"The Ohio State fans and team didn't agree with that, but it was obviously the right decision by the referees and Ohio State game management people."
