- The team held the closed-door practice in the football stadium at Dublin Coffman High School, the alma mater of former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.
- Chester Caddas, Coach Carroll's coach when he played at Pacific in the '70s, attended the workout.
- Throughout the practice, a team of personnel -- including director of team security Rick Carr, several uniformed police officers, strength coaches and administrative staffers -- relentlessly patrolled the perimeter of the Coffman Stadium football facility, ensuring that no onlookers could get a glimpse of the Trojans during their most sacred workout of the week.
- On the 2.5-mile bus ride to and from the practice, the Trojans watched a replay of the Ohio State-Navy game on the buses' TVs.
