Officially, the Trojans' first practice of the fall is at 4 p.m. today.
But USC's first on-field session of the season is at 11 this morning, and the tempo and energy will be just the same as what you'll see at the opening practice.
It'll be that way at every one of the walk-thrus during camp, meaning basically every day during Fall Camp is a two-a-day. A walk-thru is a complete misnomer for the Trojans -- about the only walking they do is going from Heritage Hall to Howard Jones field, because after that, it's all running and fast-paced work.
Per NCAA rules, the one difference between a walk-thru and practice is that walk-thrus cannot feature footballs, so players have to use their imaginations during the hour-long workouts. The focus then turns to precision and speed in lining up and running plays.
