The lessons continued to be taught during Sunday night's team meeting.
Coach Carroll spoke to the players about the moral they learned from this afternoon's practice, which started with a slew of penalties and mistakes and ended with near-perfection. Carroll reinforced his philosophy about focusing on what the players can control and watching how success flows from that.
"It's about control and not worrying about things outside of our control," Carroll said. "The BCS isn't and the Pac-10 is in our control. We want to focus on the things we can affect. We want to control and own everything that's within our grasp.
"If you start worrying about everything else, you start giving your power away. But when you focus on what you can control, you have all the power."
Then he concluded the short lesson by bringing it back to the example set in Sunday's workout.
"We regained control today -- you guys did that," Carroll said. "It'll come up again this season. But if you embrace this idea, you'll be way more powerful."
