Coach Carroll just threw one of his trademark mid-camp bones to the players.
In an effort to give them rest and a pleasant surprise alteration of the Fall Camp agenda, Carroll declared Sunday morning effectively off for the Trojans, which allows them to sleep in and stay off their feet. By canceling the morning walk-thru and changing the meeting schedule, Carroll has ended a streak of eight straight camp days with two on-field sessions and nearly a half-dozen hours of meetings.
"You guys have done everything we've asked and you're working your tails off," Carroll said during tonight's team meeting. "You guys deserve a break. Everybody needs it right now."
Check out Sunday's adjusted schedule, which features only one practice at 3 p.m. (also, here's the full Fall Camp agenda):
10 a.m. • Brunch
11 a.m. • Meetings begin (special teams, team, offense/defense and position groups)
12:30 p.m. • Meetings end
3 p.m. • Practice (full pads)
5 p.m. • Dinner
