Rule No. 1 in the program is "protect the team," so players are constantly reminded of that on the field, as they're told to refrain from tackling during practices. As a play winds down, the most common phrase you'll hear from coaches is, "Keep him up!" Players instead simply wrap up and the coaches blow the whistle to signal a "tackle" during practice.
Scrimmages, though, are different, as live tackling occurs. Players are still reminded to "protect the team," so you're never going to see Taylor Mays light up his teammate over the middle like he would in a real game.
