As much as the coaches are trying to make Saturday's mock game mirror a real game, there will be one aspect of it that'll be different.
The mock game should be much shorter.
The plan right now is to have the game flow under a running 60-minute clock, so there won't be any stoppages for incompletions or going out of bounds. Coaches might finagle the clock a little toward the end of either half to create a two-minute drill opportunity, but the game should mostly speed along on the running clock.
Also, the mock game will feature the first-unit offense face off against the scout-team defense (and vice versa for the first-team defense), which will give both sides of the ball similar looks to what they'll see next week against San Jose State.
