The mock game preparation will be taking a slight detour tonight.
Because of NCAA compliance issues, the Trojans are not permitted to stay in their usual downtown hotel tonight, but they will conduct all of tonight's and tomorrow morning's meetings there. The issue has arisen because school has started -- therefore it's not a "vacation period" right now, which limits how much the program can provide for players when it's not immediately leading into a competition.
The Trojans will conduct their usual eve-of-game meetings this evening at their traditional downtown hotel before busing back and staying in their dorms or apartments tonight. Then on Saturday morning, they'll bus back to the hotel for their pre-game meetings and meal prior to busing to the Coliseum at 10:45 a.m. for the mock game.
In previous years, the mock game and associated night in the hotel occurred before school had started, so the team wasn't restricted in terms of lodging and food provisions for the players.
