Coach Carroll announced the quarterback decision to the world earlier this afternoon and then specially to the players during this afternoon's team meeting, issuing a statement of support to the newly tapped Matt Barkley.
"You've got a lot of responsibility on your shoulders and all your teammates are behind you and supporting you," Carroll said during the meeting, speaking directly at Barkley. "Let's do something special with this."
