Giles, Sluiter Among Top 20 At U.S. Collegiate

Sophomores Matthews Giles and Tim Sluiter are tied for seventh and 17th, respectively, to pace the No. 3 USC men's golf team after two rounds of the 2009 U.S. Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga., on Monday (April 6).
During a tough day of play when all but one team finished above par, USC fell to a tie for eighth at 17-over 593 (285-308). Stanford is in first at 3-over 579.
Sluiter led USC's second-round finishers with a 3-over 75 and is now tied for 17th at 3-over 147 (72-75). Giles, meanwhile, is now even with a 144 (67-77), five strokes off the pace.
Freshman Steve Lim is tied for 40th at 7-over 151 (71-80), junior Jamie Lovemark is tied for 42nd at 8-over 152 (75-77) while senior Tom Glissmeyer is tied for 62nd at 12-over 156 (77-79).
The event concludes Tuesday, action starting at 11 a.m. EDT.
