Thoughts from Tuesday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...
- With the offense and defense tied at 16 in the last period of the final Competition Tuesday of the spring, a pressure-packed field goal by Joe Houston delivered the 17-16 victory to the offense on a scorching afternoon on Howard Jones field.
- The offense had a superb day from top to bottom Tuesday, logging several big-time plays and dominating 7-on-7 period. Led by Aaron Corp's near-perfect performance on his first day as the announced starter, the three quarterbacks went a combined 16-for-20 with seven touchdowns in the passing-focused 7-on-7 drills.
- The practice-ending team period was ripe with primetime plays -- linebacker Chris Galippo's fumble recovery and return for a touchdown, tailback Marc Tyler's pair of long runs up the middle, wideout Ronald Johnson's touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone on a pass tipped by the defensive back, safety Taylor Mays' rangy downfield coverage on a deep ball along the left sideline and cornerback T.J. Bryant's speedy sack.
- Aaron Corp on being named the starter: "It's a dream come true."
- Several special guests attended practice, including Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy, former Major League Baseball player Tim Salmon, former Trojan tailback LenDale White and USC provost C.L. Max Nikias.
