The Trojans got off to their best start of the season and found themselves up 25-6 approaching the 10:00 minute mark of the first half. However, turnovers plagued USC in the latter stages of the first twenty minutes of play. Idaho State surged back with 11 points off USC turnovers to close the first half down, 31-21.
