Night games are way different than day games, and not just because the sky is a different color.
A late kickoff means players will be sitting around a hotel all day, napping and watching football games to pass the time. Meanwhile, early afternoon games mean players essentially wake up and play, affording little time to relax before leaving for the stadium.
And which start time do the Trojans prefer? Players, even though they have to kill a lot of hours in a hotel room, typically enjoy the night games because it gives their bodies a whole day to warm up and their minds extra time to get right. Coaches, for the most part, enjoy the day games because they don't have to wait around even more after a full week of 16-hour days in preparation for the matchup. Also, earlier kickoffs give them extra time after the game to watch film back at the office, if they desire.
