The film room is already showing Arizona State tape, game plans are already coming into focus and the playbooks are already coming out of the printer.
The theme of the day is all about moving on, moving on, moving on.
"As significant as that game was, taking it to this week doesn't help us," Carroll said during this morning's staff meeting. "We've got to compartmentalize it. There's nothing to gain, there's no value in holding on to it. The point is, you don't drag this with us, because we're not better for it."
Carroll talked about the coaches developing a "discipline to leave it behind," because clenching onto the past doesn't help change the future.
"To have it affect is this week is not in our best interest," Carroll said. "It's enormously disappointing but it doesn't do us any good to hold onto it."
So the Trojans continue to move on and take steps in a positive direction as the Arizona State game is now just five days away and, more importantly, the week's first practice is less than seven hours from now.
"We've got to turn this week into an opportunity to get better," Carroll said. "Let's take it one game at a time, one day at a time.
"Let's get better today."
