The Trojans won the game but they suffered a painful loss this weekend.
Garrett Green, a backup quarterback, wideout and do-everything special teams player, tore his ACL on a punt return Saturday night, most likely sidelining him for the rest of the season and putting an end to his Trojan career. Coach Carroll called the senior one of the team's MVPs this season.
"Garrett has been an amazing competitor and leader," Carroll said. "He represents everything we stand for, and we're really going to miss him on the field."
Punter Billy O'Malley will take over the holding duties in place of Green.
