Following this afternoon's walk-thru, USC's practice fields will be partially ripped up and replaced with new sod for the stretch run of the 2009 season. After more than three consecutive months of wear-and-tear, most of the between-the-hashes parts of the field have been reduced to dirt and sand, so the grass restoration is much-needed for the famed practice facility.

After three months of daily practices, parts of Howard Jones and Brian Kennedy practice fields have been reduced to dirt, but it'll all be fixed up after this weekend's turf replacement.
