Besides Stafon Johnson and his optimistic progress following his tragic throat injury, two other players who also suffered season-ending injuries in late September are themselves on a positive road to recovery.
Defensive lineman Hebron Fangupo, who broke his leg against Washington State on Sept. 26, is healing up and progressing well in his rehab. While he can now put weight on his leg, Fangupo is still in a walking boot for three more weeks.
Defensive back Marshall Jones broke a vertebra in his neck in the same Washington State game and is rapidly improving as well. He has been out of a neck brace for several weeks and was recently cleared to resume jogging.
Both Fangupo and Jones are expected to be able to return to football in time for Spring Practice in March.
