Coaches spent a majority of the bye weekend on the recruiting trail, but how did the players use the 72 hours off?
An early-morning practice on Friday gave players almost three days off, since they didn't have to be back until workouts this morning. So, most of them went home, even the out-of-staters who live as far away as the East Coast. High school football is in the playoffs, giving many players the chance to return to see their alma maters play on in the postseason. Above all, though, the weekend gave players an opportunity to recuperate physically and recharge mentally for the final two games of the regular season and the six weeks of football remaining in the 2009 campaign.
