Thoughts from Thursday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...
- Closing out the physical part of game week preparation, the Trojans zoomed through a brief half-pads workout on a toasty Thanksgiving day. The practice, heavy on service-team work to allow coaches the final on-field look before completing the game plan, sent the Trojans into the final stage of game preparation. "We practiced our tails off and got ourselves right all week," Coach Carroll said in the post-practice team huddle. "Everyone should be revved up and ready to go for Saturday."
- Damian Williams participated fully in the workout, putting him one step closer to seeing significant playing time on Saturday after sitting out of the Stanford game.
- Offensive guard Alex Parsons will start at offensive guard, Carroll said.
- The practice, as is tradition for Thursdays, featured a large dose of special teams work to provide one last review of the schemes that will be employed on game day.
- Players and coaches now have the rest of the holiday afternoon off and don't have to report back until Friday afternoon. With the game just 48 hours away, Coach Carroll lightheartedly warned his players to not stuff themselves during Thanksgiving dinner. "It shouldn't be an eating circus," Carroll said half-jokingly. "It shouldn't be about, 'how much can I eat tonight?'"
