Thoughts from Tuesday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...
- The Trojans returned to practice for the first time since Saturday, commencing their road to redemption with a workout rife with opportunities for younger players. "We need to earn our way back to where we can play a game like we're capable of playing," Coach Carroll said in the post-practice team huddle. "We've got to work at this."
- Carroll was impressed with the way his players responded in their initial practice back following the loss. "We're starting the process of fixing the issues," he said. "The only guys who can fix it are us. Guys were tuned in."
- With several big-time catches, wideout Jordan Cameron had perhaps the best performance in Tuesday's practice, and fellow receiver Travon Patterson also recorded numerous receptions.
- Safety T.J. McDonald recovered a fumble during 11-on-11 work, while cornerback Shareece Wright levied the hit of the day when he knocked wideout Ronald Johnson off his feet on a short reception in the flat.
- The offense and defense split the two main periods on Competition Tuesday, with the offense capturing a 12-7 victory in 7-on-7 drills and the defense clinching a 12-10 triumph in team period.
- Wideout Damian Williams (ankle) is expected to sit out of practice all week, Carroll said.
- Tailback Allen Bradford, who was sidelined for much of Saturday's game and watched Tuesday's practice in street clothes, has a bone bruise in his foot, Carroll said, and his prognosis is undetermined at this point.
- Safety Drew McAllister (hip) returned to practice and participated in most full-speed drills.
- Scouts from four NFL teams attended the practice.
